Our Yosemite / Mammoth Mountain started off with a big setback... I apparently got a slipped-disk which resulted in a pinched nerve which affected my entire left leg. Needless to say that put a big damper on any hiking plans on this trip.

Despite the pain, Sunday morning we left for our trip as planned and left by 8:30am. We arrived at Angels Camp by 11am (at 100 degrees!), had an early breakfast at McDonalds. Explored Angels Camp before heading to Moaning Cavern's where we rapelled. My issue didn't effect this activity (which was a blast). While caving someone on the tour mentioned a fire in Yosemite which closed 120! Not good since we had to travel that way!

After the cave we visited the gold mine towns of Murphy's, Sonora, Jamestown then finally Groveland where we met up with Nestor, Auntie Amy and Noe for pizza at Two Guys Pizza. We had a blast catching up.

After dinner we drove to the Yosemite Westgate Lodge on Highway 120. At the hotel they mentioned that 120 into Yosemite Valley was closed due to the new El Portal Fire but Tioga Pass was open. That was the route we needed to take. We spent that afternoon swimming in the pool (it was still hot) and relaxing (my leg was aching!!)
